IF IT’S THURSDAY, IT MUST BE KANSAS CITY!

Gil just hopped on another plane tonight, this time to Seattle, the final stop on his whirlwind media tour.  Wednesday he appeared on Fox 8, AZ Family and a number of radio shows to promote the midnight release of the Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD on Friday.  Today he chatted with Film Critic Shawn Edwards on Fox 4KC in Kansas City and was interviewed on Mix 93 and other radio stations. While at the Fox  studios, he stopped to pose with one heck of a sweet ride! CATCH GIL ON THE LYING GAME THIS MONDAY, FEB. 6 ON ABC FAMILY!

Move over wolves, Gil’s heading up a new family on the hit show, The Lying Game.  Gil plays the role of Ben Whitehorse, father to Ethan (Blair Redford) and Dan (Tyler Christopher). Running from the law, Ethan and Sutton hide out on his father’s ranch, which exposes the tense relationship between Ethan and his father.  The first of three episodes, “Reservation for Two,” airs Monday, February 6, at 9/8c on ABC Family.

GIL DISCUSSES LYING GAME WITH ALLOY ENTERTAINMENT

Gil discusses his character Ben Whitehorse in the ABC Family Show, The Lying Game, in an interview for Alloy Entertainment’s www.lyinggame.alloyentertainment.com. The first episode, ”Reservation for Two,” airs February 6.

Gil is taking a break this weekend from filming The Lying Game to appear at the Albuquerque Comic Con  at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  The event is from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Friday through Sunday. Gil will appear on Saturday and Sunday.

Gil just returned to Los Angeles after wrapping up his first episode of “The Lying Game” on ABC Family. He stopped to take a few photos with castmates Alexandra Chando and Blair Redford and a new equine friend. He will be back in Austin in January to film two more episodes. Don’t miss the new season of “The Lying Game” on ABC Family starting January 2, 9 EST, 8 Central.

Gil is in Texas this week to film the first of several episodes for the TV show “The Lying Game” on ABC Family. He plays Ben Whitehorse, the father of Ethan Whitehorse (Blair Redford) and Dan Whitehorse (Tyler Christopher).

BREAKING DAWN PREMIERE

Cast members hit the red carpet November 14th for premiere of Breaking Dawn Part I was streamed live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Gil spent 2 1/2 hours on the carpet doing interviews, but most importantly signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans.  “The fan support of all the Twilight Saga films has been overwhelming,” said Birmingham. After a month on the set in Boston, MA, Gil Birmingham wrapped up his scenes in Crooked Arrows, directed by Steve Rash. The film centers on Joe Logan (Brandon Routh), a 30-year-old mixed-blood Native American, who wants to modernize the reservation but must first prove himself to his father (Birmingham), a traditionalist tribal chairman, by rediscovering his spirit. Joe postpones his casino-building dreams to coach the fledging Native American lacrosse team against the prep school in which he used to star. As a result, Joe inspires the Native American youth and teaches them the true meaning of tribal pride. The sport of Lacrosse dates back to the northeastern Native American tribes in the 1100s.

“The intense relationship between the father and son and the conflict between modern ways and tradition is what appealed to me most in Crooked Arrows,” said Birmingham, who is part Comanche. “Wrapped in a movie about a sports competition is the human element of a man and his son trying to find their way in a sometimes confusing world.”

“This is truly one of the most enjoyable times I’ve had on any set,” said Birmingham. “From the director, to the actors, to the crew and the hundreds of extras, it was a team effort in every sense of the word.”

Crooked Arrows is scheduled for release in April, 2012.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, award-winning actor Gil Birmingham has appeared in more than 40 film and television productions. Most recently, Birmingham generated public acclaim for his portrayal as Billy Black in the Twilight Saga films: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, based on the best-selling book series by Stephenie Meyer. His film credits include appearances in End of the Spear, Dreamkeeper, Skins, Gentle Ben, The Doe Boy,  and Love’s Long Journey, among others.  Birmingham has appeared in numerous TV shows, including Castle, The Mentalist, Nip/Tuck, 10 Items or Less, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars and Body & Soul. Also in 2011, Birmingham was the voice of Wounded Bird in the animated film Rango, starring Johnny Depp.
